Signage....

Broom Wagon

The 2010 Tour de France was fun to witness. I would say that Jens Voigt jumped to first on my scale of favorite Pro riders if he wasn't already there. Good for Jens that he was able to finish in Paris this year.

Jens at the start of le Grand Boucle in Rotterdam.
No Broom Wagon for Jens. Here he is chasing to stay in the tour on a much too small borrowed bike after crashing on the descent of the Col de Peyresourde.

Remember, I told you to keep an eye on this corner.

MIG Welding the magpie sign.

Sign up, on a very hot Saturday.

a little...a lot...

I managed to get a little accomplished in the shop this week. Still a lot to be done. Progress has been steady but slow. I am still working afternoons and Saturdays at the fabrication shop and weekday mornings doing some machining. This leaves me a little time in the evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sundays to accomplish everything else. McLean and I made a trip to South Carolina to pick up my Marchetti & Lange frame and fork alignment tables. It is good to finally have those back in my possession. Thanks to Phil Murphy for taking such care of them.
I also picked up some book cases, a small work bench and all of my cycling posters.
I plan to announce regular shop hours sometime next week. I am not sure that I will be building any frames at this point but at least you will know when I will be at the shop if anyone would like to stop by and take the grand tour. I will be moving tools and parts, building benches and organizing for some time yet, but I am still moving forward.
Here are the latest photos of the shop, as you can see much has changed since I started demolition.

Shop Update

Outside view of the back of 609 Foster St. Cycles Marguerite is in the right side of the blue building.

Inside before demo begins.

First days work. Removal of insulation from ceiling. Thanks for the help Little Milton!!

Inside preparing for carpet and paneling removal.

Carpet rolled and ready to be tossed. A little more light and still much to do.

More paneling removed, lights and ceiling plywood removed. Carpet gone.

Ceiling joists mostly removed, even more light and widows that have been shut for 25+ years are now opened.

Great afternoon natural light.

Next big obstacle, removal of carpet glue.
As you can see I have been busy at Cycles Marguerite. Hopefully I can get the electrician in this week and get this old glue removed so that I can start moving in.
